BEETHOVEN Leonore Overture No. 3
POULENC Concerto for Two Pianos
BRAHMS Symphony No. 2
Schumann’s fiery overture makes a fine lead-in to Poulenc’s lighthearted, jazz-influenced double concerto, played by twin sisters! Brahms composed his second symphony while visiting the Austrian Alps; abundant in flowing melodies, it finds the composer in a cheerful and expansive mood.

Please Note: Due to illness, conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya is
unable to lead the NJSO this week. We are pleased to welcome Michael Stern to the podium.

+ Classical Conversations begin 1 hour before the concert.

SCHUMANN Julius Caesar Overture
MOZART Piano Concerto No. 24
SIBELIUS Symphony No. 6
SIBELIUS Finlandia
Finland's Mustonen makes his American conducting debut. Mozart's noble concerto is one of his supreme creations; its heartbreaking slow movement lingers in the mind. Symphony No. 6 reminded Sibelius of "the scent of the first snow," and Finlandia is a deep expression of patriotism.

+ Classical Conversation begins one hour before the concert.

MOZART The Magic Flute Overture
SCHUMANN Violin Concerto
MOZART Symphony No. 41, “Jupiter”
Mozart’s playful overture promises a magical evening. Schumann’s symphonic concerto has been called a “missing link” of the violin repertoire. Like its namesake planet, Mozart’s “Jupiter” Symphony—his last work in the genre—combines gravity and brilliance.
