DRIVING DIRECTIONS
Patriots Theater at the War Memorial Driving Directions

Via the NJ Turnpike: Take Exit 7A onto I-195 W to Trenton. Follow I-195 W about eight miles to Rt. 29 N to Trenton. Follow Rt. 29 N through the tunnel and proceed about one mile to exit at Memorial Drive. The War Memorial is at the end of the exit ramp on the left.


Via Rt. 1: Take Rt. 1 S to Trenton. When Rt. 1 splits in Lawrenceville, stay left on Rt. 1S to downtown Trenton. (Do not take Business Rt. 1N to Trenton.) From Rt. 1 S, exit at Market St. Follow signs to Market St. (left at first light, right at next light). Take Market St. straight through several traffic lights to Rt. 29 N (bear left at fork). Get on Rt. 29 N and take immediate next exit for Memorial Drive. The War Memorial is at the end of the exit ramp on the left.

The New Jersey State Museum

This museum was established in 1895 with a mission to exhibit natural history, archeology and industrial history. In recent decades, the museum has added a planetarium, an auditorium as well as a fine arts collection. This is a great stop to learn about New Jersey’s history. Old Barracks Museum

The Old Barracks are a state and national landmark that was built during the French and Indian War and played a role in the Battle of Trenton (a turning point in the American Revolution). After years of disrepair, it was re-opened in 1903. Currently, the Old Barracks serve as an education center for colonial American history and is the last remaining structure of its kind. The Trenton Battle Monument

Looking for a free activity? Taking the time to view this monument is priceless. The Battle Monument commemorates the American victory at the first Battle of Trenton on December 26, 1776 and celebrates the pivotal victory for the Continental forces. The Trenton City Museum

The Trenton City Museum is located at Ellarslie Mansion and is host to artifacts and artwork. The second floor is a permanent gallery featuring a collection of tableware and artwork from the 19th and 20th centuries. The first floor serves as a venue for ever-changing contemporary art in all medias. The museum also has fine arts, decorative arts, industrial memorabilia and historical objects. Washington Crossing State Park

The story of George Washington and his troops crossing the Delaware River is well known, but how many people actually know the exact location of this momentous event? The Continental Army landed in what is now known as Washington Crossing State Park on December 25, 1776. Originally the park was preserved for its historical significance but is also known for its trails and wildlife habitat.
