Sumptuous favorites by Tchaikovsky frame an enticing pair of showpieces for solo players. A quartet of NJSO principals takes the spotlight in a Haydn gem, while pianist Sara Daneshpour, cited by The Washington Post for creating “transfixing poetry,” stars in the premiere of Danielpour’s work.

  • TCHAIKOVSKY Suite from Sleeping Beauty
Passionate yet elegant; only Tchaikovsky can bring a fairytale so vividly to life.

  • DANIELPOUR Carnival of the Ancients for Piano and Orchestra (World Premiere)
The latest from Danielpour, a favorite of NJSO audiences and “an outstanding composer for any time” (New York Daily News).

  • HAYDN Sinfonia concertante
Violin, cello, oboe and bassoon are center stage in this lively concerto filled with wit and invention.

  • TCHAIKOVSKY Francesca da Rimini
The composer shows his tempestuous side in this tale of doomed love inspired by Dante’s Inferno.
