The Mountainside Public Library hosts a free Jungle Book-inspired chamber music concert on Saturday, January 28, at 11 am. An NJSO trio will bring Kipling’s classic to life, narrating the story with a fun mix of music, puppets and props. The concert, sponsored by the Blanche M. and George L. Watts Mountainside Community Foundation, is free and open to the public. Space is limited; those interested should register early.

Musical selections include classical favorites by Handel, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and more, as well as tangos and American fiddle, boogie and Lady Gaga tunes. The trio features NJSO Principal Viola Frank Foerster, bassist Frank Lomolino and bassoonist Mark Timmerman. Timmerman also performs flute and saxophone in The Jungle Book program.

To register for the concert, contact the library at 908.233.0115 during open hours only (registration requests cannot be accepted via voicemail). Library hours are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am to 9 pm and Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm.

The Mountainside Public Library is located at 1 Constitution Plaza, Mountainside, NJ 07092. For more information, visit www.mountainsidelibrary.org.
