NJSO and PSEG Foundation present chamber music concerts in Elizabeth

Feb 6, 2017

New Jersey Symphony Orchestra chamber ensembles give performances in Elizabeth in a community concert series sponsored by the PSEG Foundation. The concerts are made possible through a multiyear partnership between the NJSO and PSEG Foundation to celebrate diversity within communities and provide unique cultural experiences.

Two “Hispanic Roots” concerts this month feature the music of some of Latin America’s most distinguished composers. A string quartet will perform the program for Elizabeth Public Schools students at Thomas Jefferson Arts Academy during the school’s 2017 Strings Night Out event on Thursday, February 16. (Strings Night Out was rescheduled from February 9 due to the winter storm.) The quartet performs the program at O’Donnell Dempsey Senior Citizen Center on Tuesday, February 28.

The concert series will also include performances presented in collaboration with other Elizabeth organizations. Dates and details will be announced for an early-spring performance at Community Access Unlimited, which serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and at-risk youth, and a June concert at the Snyder Academy of Elizabethtown arts and cultural center.
