2015 JerseyArts People's Choice Awards Winner.jpgThanks to you, our fans, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra has received the award for Favorite Symphony/Orchestra in the seventh annual JerseyArts.com People’s Choice Awards.

For the second year in a row, the awards program, which annually pays tribute to the work of New Jersey’s vital, vibrant and diverse arts organizations, saw a record number of nominees across 16 categories. Additionally, nearly 15,000 fans cast votes for their favorite arts organizations.

“Bringing the joy and beauty of live symphonic music to our neighbors all around this state is at the very heart of our mission,” NJSO President & CEO James Roe says. “We are humbled by the support of our fans in naming us their favorite symphony orchestra, and we are proud to stand in the company of all the talented and vibrant arts organizations who received well-deserved recognition as award recipients and nominees in the Jersey Arts People’s Choice Awards.”

The NJSO was one of more than 100 arts organizations and downtown arts districts nominated for this year’s awards—the largest number of nominees since the awards’ creation in 2008. Through the Jersey Arts Marketers network, comprised of hundreds of nonprofit arts groups across the state, peers nominated all award nominees.

“The People’s Choice Awards allows us to honor our state’s incomparable cultural community and highlight the passion of its supporters,” said Adam Perle, President & CEO of ArtPride New Jersey Foundation, the statewide arts service organization that coordinates the annual awards. “The amazing amount of nominees and votes attests to the incredible impact the arts have on the daily lives of New Jerseyans.”

Public voting in the 2015 Annual JerseyArts.com People’s Choice Awards ran from January 8 through February 19. Winners will be honored at the New Jersey Conference on Tourism, held each year at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City.
