The NJSO relies on private foundations and government agencies at the federal, state and local level for grants to sustain our wide range of programs.
Grants are vital in supporting the NJSO's education and outreach programs and funding specific artistic projects. In addition, endowment and capital gifts from foundations help ensure a vibrant future for this beloved statewide Orchestra.
Ticket sales and other earned income account for only 30% of NJSO operating costs. The NJSO relies on private foundations and government agencies to help make up the difference and could not exist without this support.
Foundation and government grants provide key funding for a wide array of initiatives and programs including:
• NJSO concert series
• Education and outreach programs that impact some of the state’s most disadvantaged youth
• Family concerts
• Technology and new media initiatives
• Contemporary music commissions
For information on how your foundation can help support the NJSO, contact Matthew Prol, Manager of Institutional Giving, at 973.624.3713, ext. 237, or mprol@njsymphony.org.
