New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Support NJSO



	WHAT IS ART STRINGS? Now in its seventh year, Art Strings combines the visual and aural arts to raise funds for the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra’s (NJSO) extensive education programs. The NJSO commissioned ten local visual artists to create individual works of art using violins as their canvas. A committee of devoted NJSO volunteers then generously donate their time to display the violins and sell raffle tickets for a chance to win one of these works of art. WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO? Our goal this year is to raise $10,000 with the Art Strings raffle. Proceeds from the funds raised will be used to help support a variety of our youth and educational outreach programs. Among these are: Concerts for Young People Family Concert Series Greater Newark Youth and Chamber Orchestras Master Teachers Collaborative Educational Ensembles (REACH) Raffle tickets sold for Art Strings support the fundraising efforts of the Northern New Jersey Friends. All proceeds go to the education and community engagement programs of the NJSO. Individual Annual Fund recognition is not available for this program. HOW LONG WILL ART STRINGS RUN? These transformed violins will be displayed at NJSO concerts and other selected venues throughout New Jersey during the 2007-08 season. The drawing will be held on May 23, 2008. Winners need not be present.

		You may purchase raffle tickets in the NJSO concert halls when the violins are on display or purchase tickets online. Raffle tickets can be purchased for the following amounts: $10 – 1 ticket $25 – 3 tickets $100 – 15 tickets

		VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME AND TALENTS We are always looking to expand our outstanding team of volunteers who sell raffle tickets and assist with the Art Strings display in our halls and other venues such as galleries and art shows.

		BOOK THE ART STRINGS DISPLAY FOR YOUR OWN EVENT Would you like to support the NJSO and feature gorgeous art work in your gallery, art show, school, office, special event or other venue? We can bring the 10-violin collection to your location in New Jersey to add a unique element to your site or event. The Art Strings display is available on a daily basis and our volunteers will take care of the set-up, man the table during display hours and break it down at the end of the day. No fee is charged, we just ask that you allow us to sell raffle tickets while we’re there and keep the proceeds.
