The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra announces vacancies for two section violin positions (both positions will rotate between first violin and second violin sections).
Auditions will be held March 15–18, 2020 with finals held on March 18. These are tenure-track positions with employment beginning September 1, 2020. Auditions will take place at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, NJ.

Application and Deposit Information
Following the deadline, all applicants will be notified by email if they are invited to attend the audition. Invited musicians will be asked to send a $100 deposit check by February 28, 2020. Applicants will only be assigned an audition time if we have received the deposit.
Deposit checks will be returned to musicians at the audition or if a cancellation is made prior to 48 hours before the audition. If you need to cancel your audition, please email Cassandra Mueller ([email protected]). If you fail to appear for the audition without at least 48 hours advance notice, you will forfeit your deposit.
In accordance with the NJSO’s CBA, substitute musicians who have performed at least thirty percent of all NJSO services in each of two consecutive seasons proceed directly to the Semi-Final round of auditions. If you believe that you are eligible, please contact Cassandra Mueller.
About the Position
In the 2020-21 Season, the NJSO will offer 29 Weeks, including two (2) weeks of paid vacation, up to one (1) additional week of vacation services and up to fourteen (14) NJSO Community Partners (CP) Program services, with a base salary of $1,430.14 per week and CP services paying $260.03 per service. Benefits include paid employee health insurance (contributory spousal, parent/child or family coverage available and contributory dental coverage), life insurance, long-term disability insurance, instrument insurance and pension contribution of 10.9%.
