NEW JERSEY ROOTS PROJECT

New Jersey Roots Project focuses on composers who were either born in New Jersey or whose time spent in the Garden State has significantly influenced their artistic identity.

During its 2010–11 inaugural season, the project featured a world premiere by Robert Aldridge, as well as critically acclaimed performances of works by such composers as Tobias Picker and Roger Sessions. George Antheil’s Symphony No. 6, “After Delacroix,” was an audience favorite at the opening concerts of the 2011–12 season.

Music Director Jacques Lacombe pairs New Jersey Roots Project works, which may be new to many listeners, with other selections that complement them and give them context within the greater symphonic repertoire.
