Training Ensemble Teaching Artist (Violin & Viola)

Kamaljit Bhamra-Watson has 23 years of teaching experience in the New Jersey public school system and more than 21 years of experience teaching private violin lessons. As a performer, she has participated in several community orchestras and performed professionally for weddings, recordings, and events. Her latest performance was A Night of Inspiration, an annual event with orchestra and major gospel recording artists. Presented at Carnegie Hall, the event was sponsored by Ray and Vivian Chew. In 1998, Bhamra-Watson earned her bachelor’s degree from Montclair State University in music education where she studied violin under Oscar Ravina. She furthered her education by completing her master’s degree in music education along with a supervision certificate at New Jersey City University in 2005. Her biggest strength is having the ability to rebuild string programs, and her vast knowledge of string literature and technical studies has empowered her to reach students. She is a strong believer in helping students realize their musical potential. Bhamra-Watson currently teaches music in the Newark Public Schools.
