Tchaikovsky’s music seduces the ear with memorable themes and conquers the heart with deeply felt emotion. The courtly Polonaise from his grand lyric opera hints at aristocratic intrigue. NJSO Principal Cellist Jonathan Spitz solos in the playful Rococo Variations, and the concert concludes with Tchaikovsky’s mighty Fifth Symphony.
