NJSO celebrates student musicians during education month

Mar 3, 2015

NJSO-champs-banner-ECE.jpgMarch is education month at the NJSO, and student musicians in NJSO Academy programs will perform for NJSO audiences all month long!

At the start of each Orchestra concert this month, audience members will enjoy a mini performance by members of NJSO CHAMPS (Character, Achievement and Music Project) or one of the NJSO Youth Orchestras ensembles. The students will briefly share what their experiences in the performing groups mean to them.

Student musicians will take center stage for their own performances in March as well. Chamber ensembles from the Academy Orchestra—the most advanced of the NJSO Youth Orchestras—will perform their annual “Academy Orchestra Gives Back Day” for residents of the New Community Center on Saturday, March 21. The Academy Orchestra gives its annual chamber concert, open to the public, on Saturday, March 28, at Bethany Baptist Church in Newark.
