The New Jersey Symphony partners with Save The Music & the Music Performance Trust Fund to bring live music to NJ students

May 27, 2026

Thanks to generous funding provided by the Music Performance Trust Fund, the New Jersey Symphony partnered with the Save The Music Foundation to bring live chamber performances to over 3,300 students across six public school districts across northern New Jersey. Together, the residency brought music to students in schools and communities that may have limited access to experience music performed live by professional musicians. Izzy Esparza of Save The Music wrote about the Symphony’s recent collaboration with them for the residency.

These concerts became powerful catalysts for inspiration and connection, giving students meaningful exposure to professional musicians while demonstrating that curiosity, dedication, and consistent practice are the true foundations of mastery ... Through thoughtful Q&A sessions, students were encouraged to ask questions not only about the music itself, but also about the musicians’ personal journeys, training, and advice for young people interested in pursuing music of their own.
