June 18–28 in communities across the state

NEWARK, NJ—The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra continues its annual tradition of presenting summer concerts throughout New Jersey in June. The NJSO kicks off its summer slate with a series of concerts in park settings throughout the state in June, presenting free outdoor programs at Pier A Park in Hoboken, The College of New Jersey in Ewing, Overpeck County Park in Ridgefield Park and Branch Brook Park in Newark. Additionally, the NJSO performs a free indoor concert at the Michael T. Lake Performing Arts Center in Neptune.

The Orchestra will also appear at Morris Arts’ annual Giralda Music and Arts Festival in Madison. These summer concerts feature danceable tunes from swing, Latin, pop and other traditions, as well as classical dances by Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Brahms.

FREE SUMMER PARKS PROGRAMS

Relax with friends and family and enjoy an evening under the stars with the NJSO at one of several outdoor settings across the state. Watch the New York City skyline light up as the sun sets at Pier A Park in Hoboken (June 18); soak in the sounds of the NJSO at the College of New Jersey in Ewing (June 20); enjoy a concert in an amphitheater tailor-made for concerts at Overpeck County Park in Ridgefield Park (June 25) or take in the sights of a stunning post-concert fireworks display at Essex County Branch Brook Park in Newark (June 26). Or, escape the summer heat with a free indoor concert at Michael T. Lake Performing Arts Center in Neptune (June 27).

Hear classical dances from Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Brahms in the concert’s first half. Then, rev up for a lively second half when the NJSO plays tunes from swing, Latin, pop and a whole lot more. Bring a blanket, bring the kids—and by all means, bring your dancing shoes!
