An Afternoon in Old Europe, Without Leaving Morristown
Morris Museum & Rick Steves’ Europe: A Symphonic Journey | Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 3 pm
Spend an inspiring day exploring the fascinating world of music, innovation, and performance! Start the day at the Morris Museum in Morristown, NJ and tour the renowned Murtogh D. Guinness Collection of historic mechanical musical instruments and automata, featuring more than 750 remarkable mechanical marvels spanning 400 years. From intricate music boxes and animated mechanical dolls to magnificent player pianos and the impressive Poppers "Rex" Orchestrion, these extraordinary inventions reveal the ingenuity behind some of history's earliest forms of "music on demand."
Following the museum visit, you’ll enjoy a two-course dinner at Stirling Tavern in downtown Morristown. Then it’s a short walk to Mayo Performing Arts Center where you’ll conclude the evening with travel writer Rick Steves and the New Jersey Symphony. This unique concert combines Europe's most stirring Romantic-era orchestral music with breathtaking high-definition cinematography along with Rick Steves' engaging insights into European history, creating an unforgettable musical journey across the continent.
Package Price: $250 per person
This package includes orchestra level seating for Rick Steves’ Europe: A Symphonic Journey, Morris Museum admission and tour, two-course dinner, administrative fees, and gratuities. Guests must provide their own transportation to Morristown and between the museum and downtown. Assistance with travel coordination is available.
