IN THE NEWS

“From the first notes, the rendition effectively conveyed the work’s gravitas, with deep, rich, weighty sound in the opening halting chords that created a feeling of being stunned by divine power and mortality.”

“Mr. Lacombe brought details of this score into sharp focus, emphasizing the texture of the work and always choosing to luxuriate in the more lyric passage of the score.”

FROM THE STAGE

“The Verdi Requiem is a special piece, and I always love playing it. The opening is amazing, and the effect of the work is so powerful—you feel it hanging in the air after the last notes end. The vocal soloists at this weekend’s concerts were exceptional, and we always enjoy working with the excellent Montclair State University Chorale.”
Ann Kossakowski, violin
