Bassist LonFon Law holds degrees from the Royal Academy of Music and the Juilliard School, enabled kindly by the LSO Conservatoire scholarship. He has worked with the London Symphony Orchestra and the English National Opera prior to joining the New Jersey Symphony in 2024. As an active chamber musician, he regularly performs around the world with Musicus Soloists Hong Kong. LonFon was the winner of the T&G Martin Special Award at the International J.M. Sperger Competition 2022, and was invited in the same year to world-premiere and record Grammy-winning composer Joan Tower’s Beauty and the Beast for solo double bass.
He will serve as the Acting Principal Bass for the 2025–26 season while Prinicpal Bass Ha Young Jung is on leave.
