Luca Esposito
Originally from Long Island, New York, Luca Esposito joined the New Jersey Symphony as Principal Percussionist during the 2025/26 season. Luca began playing percussion at the age of 9, until ultimately deciding to pursue music as a career. His undergraduate studies took place at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, where he was the recipient of the Andy Zildjian scholarship. His graduate degrees include a Master’s from New England Conservatory, and an Artist Diploma from the Glenn Gould School of Music at the Royal Conservatory, where he was awarded the Florence Man and Bernard Sze full-tuition scholarships. He is also a graduate of The Orchestra Now fellowship at Bard College, where he performed from 2023 to 2025.
Luca has appeared professionally with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and The Orchestra San Antonio. As a student, Luca held fellowships with various prestigious summer festivals around the world, including the Verbier Festival Orchestra, Pacific Music Festival, Music Academy of the West, and Round Top Festival Institute. He primarily studied with Charles Settle, Dan Bauch, Will Hudgins, and Sean Ritenauer.
When not performing, Luca enjoys cooking, exploring new cuisines, traveling, playing with his nieces and nephew, and supporting his favorite soccer team, SSC Napoli.
