Media alert: June 22 free concert moved to rain site at Union County PAC

June 22, 2018

Program features Broadway favorites, opera overtures and more

June 22 at 7:30 pm

NEWARK, NJ—Due to inclement weather, tonight’s free New Jersey Symphony Orchestra summer concert—originally scheduled to be held at Echo Lake Park in Mountainside—has been moved to a rain location. The performance will take place at 7:30 pm at Union County Performing Arts Center in Rahway.

The family-friendly program features Broadway favorites, opera overtures and more—from the overture to Crazy for You to Rossini’s fiery overture to William Tell to a familiar tune from a galaxy far, far away.

José Luis Domínguez conducts the summer concerts, which are an annual tradition that reflects the Orchestra’s commitment to bringing live symphonic music to communities throughout the state.

The concert is free and open to the public. No prior ticket reservations are required. Union County Performing Arts Center is located at 1601 Irving Street in Rahway.

This concert is sponsored by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Blanche M. and George L. Watts Mountainside Community Foundation.

Full event details for the NJSO’s slate of summer concerts are available at njsymphony.org/summer.
