New York Times: Zhang’s NJSO concerts in ‘10 Things to Do Now’

“Acquaint Yourself With a Celebrity of the Classical World.” The New York Times praises Music Director Xian Zhang as it includes her NJSO concerts at NJPAC in Newark this weekend among its “10 Things to Do Now”:

Following her debut last week as music director of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, the internationally respected conductor Xian Zhang leads a program of works on Saturday and Sunday that includes Beethoven’s Triple Concerto, Haydn’s Symphony No. 102 and Strauss’s “Der Rosenkavalier” Suite.

In features surrounding her first concerts as NJSO Music Director last week, The New York Times called the conductor a “dynamic podium presence” and praised her “technical abilities, musicianship and maturity.”
