Star-Ledger: Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II in week’s ‘Top 5’

Dec 30, 2014

The NJSO's performances of Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II on January 3 at NJPAC in Newark and January 4 at the State Theatre in New Brunswick top The Star-Ledger's picks for the weekend:

Bugs Bunny at the Symphony — The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra brings back one of classical music’s greatest champions: Bugs Bunny. “Looney Tunes” favorites from the Wagner-lampooning “What’s Opera, Doc?” – a.k.a. “Kill da Wabbit” – to the Rossini-centric “The Rabbit of Seville” will be projected onscreen while the ensemble plays live soundtracks on Saturday at 3 p.m. at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center and Sunday at 3 p.m. at the State Theatre in New Brunswick. Tickets are $20-$93, half price for children 15 and under.

Previously, Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II creator/conductor George Daugherty chatted with 1450 WCTC about bringing beloved Looney Tunes cartoons into the concert hall.
