NEWARK, NJ—This October, experience the New Jersey Symphony in new ways! With a wide variety of events from which to select, there is a program for everyone. The world-famous TwoSet Violin—a YouTube classical music comedy duo—will make a stop at NJPAC in Newark (October 5) on their world tour, bringing their unique brand of earnest and silly musical comedy to a new level in this performance, with the backing of a full symphony orchestra.

The following weekend, the 2025–26 season classical series officially opens with pianist Joyce Yang performing one of Tchaikovsky’s most treasured works, his Piano Concerto No. 1. Opening Weekend (October 10–12) also celebrates the Symphony’s Music Director Xian Zhang’s 10th season—a remarkable milestone of a decade filled with musical innovation and spectacular performances.

The whole family will love Disney’s Fantasia in Concert (October 23–26), with repertoire from the original 1940 version and Fantasia 2000 being performed by the New Jersey Symphony while Disney’s stunning footage is shown on the big screen at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown, the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, and State Theatre New Jersey in New Brunswick. That same weekend at NJPAC in Newark, experience the one-night-only northeast premiere of Steve Hackman’s Beethoven X Beyoncé (October 24). Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony, the symphonic repertoire’s most joyful and exuberant celebration of dance, is the canvas onto which fifteen of Beyoncé’s most popular songs across her entire catalog are interwoven, including “Girls,” “Crazy in Love,” “Sorry,” “Cuff It,” “Single Ladies,” and “Texas Hold ‘Em.” The production’s emotional peak is when two of the most recognizable melodies from each composer are intertwined: “Halo” and the hauntingly beautiful second movement of the Beethoven. Three powerhouse female soloists, as well as a guest drummer, guitarist/keyboardist, and bassist, join the orchestra for a night of musical magic.
