Since the arts are a vital part of New Jersey tourism, it was only natural that Art Pride New Jersey issued its 5th Annual JerseyArts.com People’s Choice Awards during the 2013 New Jersey Conference on Tourism.

Held at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City earlier today, Andrew Lloyd Young – a Tony-Award-winning-artist for his role in Jersey Boys, served as emcee for the ceremony.

According to Ann Marie Miller, executive director of Art Pride New Jersey, visitors who attend art events spend over a half billion dollars each year on top of the ticket price.

“It’s all related to tourism,” Miller added. “The non-profit arts industry has to pick up the slack to make sure revenue stays inside New Jersey.”
